The Rasmus is a Finnish band who formed in 1995. It started as Eero being quite a loner at school and Lauri Ylönen talked
to him and introduced him to his mates. Nirvana's third album was what made Eero fall in love with rock music.
In December 1994, Lauri, Eero, Pauli and Janne played a gig at their school. A year later, they
released a single, called ''1st''. And just a few months later, they signed with Warner and released their first album ''Peep''
which sold gold.
Their next album ''Playboys'' (1997) was also very sucessful with a tour too. ''Liquid'' from
the album ''Hell Of A Tester'' (1998) got best video and single (1998/99). Around then a friend introduced Eero to yoga
and meditation. It then got to the stage when they were growing up and threatening to grow apart from each other. This led
Janne in leaving the band. Aki, who was a merchandise salesman, was asked to join the band and become the drummer. So then
the sound changed and they changed to 'Playground Music' and recorded an album in 2001 called ''Into''.
Then in 2003, The Rasmus introduced themselves to the rest of Europe. Their single ''In
the Shadows'' from the album ''Dead Letters'' was a massive hit!
